The West Coast provides the perfect work-life balance
Imagine a life where you can escape the concrete jungle and have more time to spend with your family doing what you love … no traffic jams, no motorway congestion - instead there are vibrant communities and an untamed natural wilderness for a backyard.
The median house price in New Zealand is now over a million dollars.
On the West Coast the quarter-acre section is still a reachable reality. Median house prices are around $330,000. You can live by the sea and still have views of the snow-covered alps – with thriving cafes just a walk away.
Development West Coast (DWC) is a charitable Trust, established to foster sustainable economic benefit and employment opportunities throughout the West Coast region. DWC’s support falls into four main areas – business development and enablement; commercial finance; regional economic development; and tourism and destination management, assisting numerous businesses throughout the region, and optimising long term strategic returns from its perpetual fund.
Reporting to the CE, and a member of the executive team, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading the Finance team in providing the financial and investment services to DWC and associated operational and compliance requirements. The appointee will work closely with external advisors managing the significant investment fund and providing commercial finance to West Coast organisations. This will require close working relationships with the Board, advisors, community and stakeholders.
Candidates will be attracted to a role which combines the strategic with the practical and the diversity of activities within an organisation that is shaping the economic, social and cultural fabric of the region.
Take a look at this role and you will quickly see why people love to live, work and play on the West Coast.
