About the Role
With deep Wairarapa roots, grown over decades of helping farmers make informed decision about their businesses, Farm Focus is a company that lives and breathes farming. Founded over 40 years ago by a farmer who became a “self-taught” software developer, the business now employs over 50 people providing a market leading SaaS, Planning, and Financial Management solution to thousands of farmers across New Zealand. Over the years, the owners of the business have always had a practical farming background; this is a company that can truly relate to its customers.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, you will join at a time where the work to complete a major development of their flagship product has been completed. This will allow you to focus on growing the business both directly to farmers and through Agri-professionals such as accountants, consultants, and banks. A further focus will be to further the excellent work that has been done over the years in creating a strong inclusive culture that has created long-lasting relationships and seen Farm Focus become an award-winning business. This is first and foremost a role for someone who is deeply passionate about the Agri sector.
Skiils and Experience
Whilst you may not have a technology specific background, you will have knowledge of, and previous experience working with, farmers and the wider rural community.
Other elements of your experience we are keen to discuss with you, are:
- Your experience with developing and delivering business plans specifically related to delivering growth, whilst also delivering quality product and service.
- How you have led high-performing organisations and teams that includes bringing innovation and rigour to sales and marketing initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to readily grasp the key financial elements of the business.
Exceptional communication skills that allow you to inspire the team and engage readily and credibly with customers.
