Oranga Tamariki, The Ministry for Children, is committed to supporting any child or young person whose wellbeing is at significant risk of harm – now or in the future. With a duty of service to a wide of range of New Zealanders, their central belief is that in the right environment, and with the right people surrounding and nurturing them, any child can flourish. Their vision is: New Zealand values wellbeing of Tamariki above all else.
Currently Oranga Tamariki is seeking to expand the capability of its People and Leadership team: its desired future is one where they demonstrate that people matter, and that that their skills, capability and wellbeing are critical to realising the vision of Oranga Tamariki. To this end, two new Human Resources Operations Manager roles have been created; one based in Christchurch or Wellington, the other in Auckland.
Reporting to the GM People and Leadership, the HR Operations Managers will work closely with key internal stakeholders to provide excellent service delivery in all HR-related areas, facilitate support from specialist teams and cultivate enhanced ways of working to support the transformational changes Oranga Tamariki is charged with over the coming years. Given the national reach of Oranga Tamariki, these Managers will be adept at partnering and influencing across a broad and dispersed network of internal stakeholders across broad geographical areas.
Compelling candidates for this role will have a background in the management of HR professionals in a comparably complex environment. Experience in social development is not required, but it will be important for candidates to demonstrate empathy and understanding of the community and social drivers to which Oranga Tamariki works. For those seeking a role with heart, where your commitment to professional excellence contributes to a better New Zealand, these roles represent a compelling next career step.
