Possessing an understanding of the unique cultural dynamics enabled Sheffield to assist Te Wananga O Aotearoa in the appointment of a new executive team. Initially engaged to appoint a new Chief Executive officer, Sheffield was was further engaged to appoint eight Tumu (executive directors). The challenge laid down for the Sheffield team by the Chief Executive Jim Mather was to ‘appoint the most inspiring Maori leadership team in the country’.

Through working closely with Jim and his advisors, and leading a thorough search across many functional specialities, in late 2014 Nga Tumu was appointed. Sheffield have subsequently worked with Nga Tumu on the appointment of a number of third and fourth tier leaders.
