Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager, is responsible for the overall leadership, direction and management of a modern, automated 24/7 potato production process staffed over 12-hour shifts. Leading a team of 4 direct reports and approximately 90 staff, the Production Manager will champion a Health & Safety and Food Safety & Quality culture, with a focus on zero variance, cost control and optimising the quantity and quality of finished product throughout all processing, production, and packaging stages. With a focus on continuous improvement, the role will ensure each shift meets production targets and delivery schedules with the allocated resources and are run with suitably trained, motivated and qualified team members.
Driven and energetic, the new Production Manager must possess proven experience within a food processing facility (ideally potato) with a dedication to ensuring manufacturing excellence. Strong leadership, production planning and management skills are essential, in addition to the ability and desire to continually embrace new technology.
Candidates of interest will also possess:
- Open, engaging, collaborative leadership qualities with the ability to coach and develop teams
- Strong organisational skills with a good level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective trouble shooting and root cause analysis with a solutions-focused approach
- Proven experience in continuous improvement initiatives
- A high level of numeracy and literacy with an ability to interpret data and metrics
- Experience in Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality management
- Experience in process improvement
