About The Role:

MARS Bioimaging (MBI) is well poised for expansion after 10 years of research and 5 years focussed on the manufacture of the world’s first commercial pre-clinical mobile wrist scanners.  MBI aspires to be a fast-growing technology company, moving from a research-led environment to a commercially focussed manufacturing environment and the time is now right to invest in this critical executive position.

This exciting new role reporting to the Board will provide leadership and strategic direction to the organisation, overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions, with a clear mandate to realise the growth potential to become a global manufacturing business.

 

Skills & Experience:

Candidates of interest will have extensive operational management experience at a senior level along with a track record of high achievement, excellent leadership skills and a broad commercial skillset. Whilst you don’t need to be a technical expert, you will ideally have experience in a technology, engineering or software development environment. You will have:

  • a track record successfully growing a start-up business, including experience building sales volume through development of offshore markets
  • a strong sales and manufacturing background, with an understanding of manufacturing excellence
  • proven success developing a positive team culture and can point to examples of leading change across multidisciplinary teams
  • high emotional intelligence and the ability to develop trust, ideally with business founders/owners.

MARS Bioimaging is a Christchurch-based medical imaging device innovator, founded in 2007 by world renowned mathematical medical physicist Prof. Phil Butler and highly acclaimed radiologist Prof. Anthony Butler. MBI brings together an interdisciplinary R&D team of physicists, radiologists, engineers, computer scientists, orthopaedic and other surgeons, mathematicians, biologists, and cancer researchers. MBI has established itself as the world’s leading research and development group in spectral x-ray CT imaging and has been delivering the world’s first commercial pre-clinical photon-counting spectral CT imaging systems.
