The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially astute legal professional to provide effective legal advice across the business. The newly created role reports to the Head of Risk and Governance and is responsible for implementing ANDO’s legal strategy organisation wide. Key to your success will be the ability to balance commercial goals with legal considerations and to effectively influence at all levels. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, this is a crucial role providing high quality advice and support. You will quickly establish credibility and be integral to the development of policies, procedures and oversight to enhance internal capability. Positive relationships are already well established with external legal resources and this role will have oversight and budget ownership for these. You will enjoy cultivating strong relationships across the industry, with suppliers and regulators, to drive a business partnering approach.
About You
- 5 years’ diverse commercial legal experience, with New Zealand insurance industry knowledge a plus
- Bachelor of Laws and a current NZ Practicing Certificate (or a pathway to achieve)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Understanding of New Zealand regulatory environments and compliance frameworks
- Strategic thinker with proven business acumen and problem-solving capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
