We are looking for a Head of Procurement to join our team - a strategic leader, collaborator, trusted advisor, and a champion of procurement best practice.
Utilise your technical expertise and outstanding people leadership. Working closely with colleagues across the business, building strong, interconnected collegial relationships you will ensure procurement is well-integrated into wider organisational strategy.
About the Role:
- Leading a talented team – Guiding and developing a high-performing procurement function that delivers real value.
- Building strong internal connections – Working collaboratively across the business to ensure procurement supports and strengthens Transpower’s wider objectives.
- Driving strategic procurement, category management and supplier relationship management – Governing over $500 million in procurement spend, leading commercial negotiations, and ensuring our supply chain is resilient, sustainable, and well-managed.
- Bringing procurement expertise and insight – Providing trusted advice on long term procurement strategies, risk management, and commercial decision-making.
- Enhancing procurement processes – Continuously improving systems and approaches to make procurement activities more efficient, fit for purpose, consistent with good practice and future-ready.
About You:
This is a role for a collaborative leader who gets energy from solving complex and nuanced procurement and supply chain challenges. You will bring commercial expertise to the table, while also fostering a commitment to excellence.
Ideally, you will have:
- A strong background in procurement and commercial leadership, ideally in complex or regulated environments.
- Proven ability to build effective internal relationships and partner with different teams across an organisation.
- Experience leading high-performing teams – developing people while also bringing thought leadership in procurement.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to think ahead, solve challenges, and add value beyond traditional procurement functions.
- Experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies to address business objectives and respond to market challenges.
