About the role

We're looking for a dynamic Group Manager – R&D and Innovation to lead our research and development, drive breakthrough product innovation, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to the CEO, this is a key leadership role where you'll shape the future of our products and make a significant impact on our business and customers. 

You will be working on a wide range of projects that encompass everything from web-based tools and AI automation to systems integration and mechanical design. This will mean getting on site, testing, learning from key stakeholders, and incorporating your own design experience to deliver positive results.    

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • overseeing the end-to-end management of R&D projects, from strategic prioritisation and planning through to execution and completion, 
  • coordinating cross-functional collaboration, monitor progress, resolve issues, and report on key milestones and outcomes to stakeholders, 
  • assessing appropriate external and internal design resource required to complete projects successfully,  
  • carrying out design tasks and testing, 
  • overseeing the research and development of new products, technologies, and processes to drive business growth, 
  • continuously evaluating and improving R&D processes to optimise efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, 
  • leading, mentoring, and managing current and future R&D team members to ensure high performance and continuous development. 

 

You'll have/be:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in engineering,
  • a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a product development related role,  
  • strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, product development methodologies and best practices, 
  • excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills,  
  • ability to think critically and creatively, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
