About The Role

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead the high performing finance team (4 direct reports), with responsibility for managing Hilton Haulage’s finance, compliance, accounting and reporting functions.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring completion of high-quality financial reports, budgets, financial modelling and analysis.
  • Daily oversight of the Accounts, Payroll, Financial Accountant and Management Accountant positions
  • Proactive support of the Divisional Managers to review and analyse operational performance
  • Continuous improvement of finance process and accounting systems, ensuring integrity and efficiency
  • Development of key internal and external stakeholder relationships.  

 

Skills & Experience

Candidates of interest will be a Chartered Accountant with proven successful experience leading a complex finance function in a fast-paced operational environment, ideally a multi-site business. You will:

  • Have a track record of leadership and coaching to develop successful, collaborative teams
  • Have proven experience working in a senior finance position; experience in the transport sector is desirable, but not essential
  • Have a passion for technology & enjoy working with financial systems processes to improve efficiency
  • Naturally have a high level of commercial acumen, responding quickly to commercial opportunities
  • Enjoy working in a nimble environment with no bureaucracy and a flat management structure
  • Be known as a strong relationship builder, who will hit the ground running quickly
  • Be interested to potentially step up to the CFO position.
