About The Role:
This role sits at the heart of Cool-Safe's Coolest Courier and Cool-Swap programmes across the South Island and Lower North Island. You'll be out in the field - meeting clients, opening doors, and growing participation across the HVAC&R sector.
A good chunk of your time will be face-to-face or on the phone with customers, which means you need to be comfortable on the road (expect around two days a week of travel) and equally comfortable walking into a business and starting a conversation. The rest of your time is spent managing your pipeline, maintaining CRM records, and reporting back to the team.
This isn't a passive account management role. You'll be identifying new business, re-engaging inactive accounts, and finding creative ways to grow refrigerant recovery across your territory. If you enjoy the chase as much as the close, this role is for you.
Skills & Experience:
We're looking for someone with two to three years' experience in sales, account management, or business development - ideally with a background in HVAC&R, or a similarly hands-on commercial environment. A trades background is a genuine advantage; you'll understand the sector and earn credibility quickly.
Beyond experience, what matters most is attitude. You'll need to be a self-starter who thrives on results, handles rejection well, and knows how to turn a 'no' into a 'yes'. Strong communication skills, CRM proficiency, and an organised approach to territory management round out the picture.

About the Company:
Cool-Safe is New Zealand's accredited product stewardship scheme for synthetic refrigerants, operated by the Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants - an organisation that has been protecting New Zealand's environment for over 30 years. Cool-Safe works with the HVAC&R industry to collect and destroy synthetic refrigerants in an environmentally responsible way, reducing the harm these substances cause to the atmosphere.
