About the Role

This is a newly created opportunity and follows the planned retirement and exit of the founders, with a subsequent transition to new owners.  Reporting directly to the Board, this role has a real mix of strategic, operational, and client-facing responsibilities and represents a unique opportunity to lead a company with a strong foundation through further growth.

The purpose of the position is to:

  • Contribute to setting long term plans and strategic aims.
  • Ensure that the Company’s strategic plan is implemented.
  • Lead the team delivering excellent client services.
  • Support developments in line with existing and future growth strategies.
  • Ensure the business results are realised in a controlled, predictable, and timely manner.
  • Ensure the smooth ongoing function and continual improvement in the Company.
  • Lead and drive health and safety across the Company.

 

Skills and Experience

Supported by an experienced team the ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally have a strong background in logistics, commercial hire transport, or an associated sector.
  • Be ready to step up into a General Manager role.
  • Possess proven experience in a senior operations role.
  • Have well-developed customer engagement and leadership skills.
  • Lead with a continuous commitment to customer service. 
  • Maintain and refine internal systems that inspire and support everyone to be their best.
