The CEO is responsible for leading a wide range of activities across diverse functions including but not limited to: 

  • Building highly collaborative relationships, closely aligned to communities’ mutual goals.
  • Successful delivery and effective, inclusive communication. 
  • Inspirational leadership of a highly competent executive team, fully committed to the sustainable and productive management of the region’s resources and infrastructure.

 

Skills and Experience

Candidates must have substantial experience in a strategy-led senior executive position coupled with:

  • Well-proven financial and business acumen, and broad sector experience preferably in the key areas that drive the Northland economy.
  • Established relationships with iwi/hapū of Te Tai Tokerau and a demonstrated commitment to Tikanga Māori.
  • Proven ability to build broad coalitions of interest, to innovate and manage sector transformation successfully.
  • An understanding of local and central government decision making dynamics
