About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Technology Delivery, the Data Integration Specialist will be responsible for designing, delivering and managing UniMed’s data integration architecture, roadmap and business prioritised features to enable implementation of digital and wider business strategies.  This role represents the combined equivalent of a data specialist and product owner in larger organisations.

The role will ensure that the data from all of UniMed’s application systems can support all parts of the business, for:

• Data quality including data governance and management
• Decision making including improved business intelligence capabilities
• Servicing, including new digital channels, and
• Productivity/straight through processing including integration from system to system.

What you will be doing?

DESIGN AND PLAN

• Take the technical lead in the design and planning of data integration and data management projects, ensuring alignment to IT strategy, architecture and initiatives with business goals.
• Provide the data integration technical knowledge and experience during the execution and management of;
  • Integrating applications and data sources into the existing environment.
  • Managing multiple data sources for analytics, reporting, dashboards etc.
• Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate data integration and data management projects and initiatives.
• Create and communicate clarity to staff, customers and stakeholders regarding the purpose, objectives and success factors of the good data integration and data management.

Develop and Deliver

• Develop and enhance data integration, data management and BI systems/services to enable UniMed to operate effectively and deliver exceptional services to its customers.
• Coordinate the evaluation, prioritisation, deployment and management of features for data integration and data management services.
• Deliver on the plans for technologies to support necessary future directions.
• Support the Head of Technology Delivery in proactive vendor management across all domains.
• Deliver all tasks assigned, ensuring controls and processes are in place to protect security, privacy and confidentiality of digital/IT systems and data.
• Ensure UniMed’s data technology and digital environment is secure and fit for purpose.

Operate and Improve

• Lead level 2/level 3 problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues arise.
• Proactively implement audit, logging and monitoring solutions.
• Seek to continually enhance and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management and integration processes and IT-enabled workflow across UniMed.
• Ensure continuous delivery of data management and integration services.

Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate will possess:

• A Tertiary qualification in technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in data analytics functions and data integration.
• Experience in system design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management, in both a waterfall environment and agile.
• Project management experience including being able to demonstrate managing critical dependencies across third parties.
• Productive negotiation skills with commercial nous.
• Familiarity with current digital developments and trends in IT systems, applications and capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to build and maintain productive internal and external relationships.
• Detail orientation, yet be pragmatic, process-driven and an analytical thinker.
