About The Role:
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will build on the legacy of strategic, financial and operational success, supported by a large team of dedicated employees and volunteers. The Chief Executive will retain strong relationships with stakeholders and play an advocacy role based on PSS’s understanding of community needs.
The Chief Executive will lead and manage Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS), ensuring that its residential, community and Family Works health, social and administration services are provided efficiently, fairly and in accordance with its established policies and its quality standards to the people of Southland and the Wakatipu Basin.
Key tasks include:
- Manage and lead PSS to achieve its strategic goals.
- Ensure day to day operations are undertaken effectively and efficiently.
- Prudently manage all PSS finances and assets.
- Manage all compliance activities for Presbyterian Support Southland.
- Manage and develop the people, policies and procedures, frameworks and systems at PSS.
- Ensure the Trust is well represented within the community and nationally.
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a robust health and safety management system.
Skills & Experience:
Candidates will possess a proven track record of success working at a senior management and leadership level with a substantial and complex organisation, preferably from within an environment related to health and welfare services.
Essential skills include:
- Well-developed financial acumen and a focus on service excellence and growth.
- Strategic thinking and planning.
- People leadership.
- Relationship management skills.
- Ability to build strong networks and show leadership through interaction with government, public sector, funding agencies, Iwi, NGOs and communities.
- Experience in implementing organisational structure and change efficiently and effectively.
- Governance experience and/or experience in reporting to a commercial board of directors.
- Affinity with Christian values and ability to embody the organisation’s values.
- A personal commitment to community development and social justice through experience as a volunteer is also advantageous.
