About The Role:
Based in Dunedin and leading a dedicated workforce of 600, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and building long term stakeholder relationships, ensuring an appropriate return on investment to the Shareholder, Dunedin City Holdings Limited.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding a safety culture to ensure “Everyone Home Safe. Every Day”.
- Leading, inspiring and motivating teams, enhancing the strong values-based culture;
- Improving the financial performance of the business;
- Driving operational efficiencies and productivity levels;
- Executing long-term contracts with customers including those in the Electricity Distribution industry, local authorities, and metering equipment providers;
- Building a strong connection to communities, including as a first-response service;
- Improving sustainable work practices & opportunities for technological advancements;
Skills & Experience:
Candidates of interest will bring proven executive leadership experience in strategic operational management roles, ideally in a competitive commercial contracting environment. You will:
- Point to developing successful relationships with a range of stakeholders (shareholders, suppliers, customers, councils, boards, contractors & community groups);
- Have experience in leading & implementing change, to deliver operational efficiencies and improve productivity;
- Have experience in developing strategic concepts, operationalising these for delivery;
- Have proven financial and operational management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead growth and deliver against targets.
An understanding of the sectors within which the company operates, whilst not essential, would be an advantage.

Delta is an infrastructure specialist providing a range of contracting services to local authority and private sector customers. We construct, manage and maintain essential energy and community infrastructure largely in the South Island. Headquartered in Dunedin, with regional depots in Nelson, Christchurch, Rangiora, Cromwell, Alexandra, Wānaka, Queenstown and Auckland.
