About the Company

Our client is a provider of health services to the  New Zealand public. The organisation has grown from five employees to more than 550 people across a network of sites, built through acquisitions over several decades. Now a significant health business, the company has ambitions to grow its commercial revenue, expand services and explore opportunities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.


About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this senior leadership role has overall accountability for the group’s operations and commercial direction.

You will be a genuine partner to the CEO, and a key member of the senior leadership team with a focus on developing process, people and systems alignment. Contributing to the commercial strategy and revenue diversification will be key to success.

You will:

  • Drive operational performance and lead transformation across a multi-site organisation.
  • Lead and develop the group’s operations and commercial enterprise with a focus on operational efficiency, continuous improvement and optimising service levels.
  • Champion the use of technology and AI to transform workflows and reduce cost.
  • Build high performing teams and collaborative working relationships across sites and functions.


About You

You are a commercially astute and values‑driven operations leader with leadership experience ideally in the health sector, including health adjacent, commercial organisations. The opportunity to partner with a CEO actively invested in an organisation’s future strongly appeals.

With 10+ years in senior operational leadership roles, you have successfully led complex, multi‑site or group-based operations through periods of significant transformation, integration or growth.

You will also bring:

  • The ability to manage the day-to-day operations whilst maintaining a clear, forward‑looking growth orientation.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including a solid understanding of revenue diversification and growth strategy.
  • Confidence in applying technology, digital tools, or AI-enabled solutions to drive operational efficiency, service improvement and scalability.
  • Well-honed stakeholder management skills.
