About The Role: 

Murray & Co is a leading New Zealand investment banking firm with offices in Christchurch and Auckland, providing expert strategic, financial and transactional advice to a range of companies and other commercial entities.

The Corporate Services Manager (CSM) manages the operations of the firm. Working closely with the Partners, you will take ownership of Compliance, Marketing and Communications, Strategy and Business Planning, People, Culture and Engagement; and Systems and Technology.    You will also provide governance support, perform the Company Secretary function and provide oversight of the firm's Fund Distribution business, including compliance, administration and reporting.

This role will build and maintain trusted relationships with the firm’s key external advisors and partners including accountants, insurance brokers, landlords and the company's lawyer.

You will have a clear understanding of the firm’s core values and culture, be an exemplary leader, have strong business acumen, and have a sound understanding of professional services and business strategies.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a proven management professional, ideally with experience in a professional services environment. You will bring:

  • Demonstrated people and culture leadership experience, including mentoring, developing and empowering teams
  • Strong operational management skills with accountability across a broad range of functions
  • Experience in compliance, governance support and regulatory frameworks
  • Confidence managing systems and technology, including project management
  • Experience contributing to strategic plans and translating them into practical action
  • Marketing and communications capability, including brand management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

A tertiary qualification is highly desirable in a relevant field such as law, commerce, business management, HR or marketing.

You will be a confident, hands-on operator who brings energy and initiative, is comfortable with ambiguity, and takes genuine pride in contributing to the success of a growing firm.
