About The Role: 

The HR Manager is a member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the CEO. The role is primarily responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and projects in line with company priorities as well as coaching others to drive overall performance through culture alignment, business engagement and people development.

This role has become available due to the current HR Manager taking maternity leave at the end of June 2024. The role has two direct reports: an HR Advisor and HR Coordinator.

 

Skills & Experience: 

As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven track record in successfully influencing and enhancing organisational performance.

With a sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and its application in a business context, as well as HR best practice, you will quickly establish credibility at all levels across the company.

You will have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be able to coach managers and their teams to deliver on company priorities and drive performance and engagement.

You will also understand the broader implications of decisions made and how best to lead and support HR initiatives including: annual union bargaining, remuneration reviews and engagement surveys; succession planning and HRIS systems integration.

In addition, you will have:

  • A relevant degree in human resources and/or industrial and organisational psychology.
  • Previous experience in HR leadership positions.
  • Sound knowledge of current principles and best practice in employment relations, recruitment and selection, remuneration, performance management, change management, learning and development, and H&S
  • Experience in industrial relations and negotiating with Unions.
