Capital & Coast District Health Board provides hospital and healthcare services for the people of the Wellington region. We plan and deliver primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services for a diverse and growing population. Reporting to the Director Provider Services (2DHB), this role works in partnership with the multidisciplinary clinical partners to enable the delivery of high-quality care to patients. The role manages Hospital Flow and Emergency Services, Perioperative, ICU, Radiology, Integrated Operations Centre, and Patient Administration Service.
The immediate priorities will include:
Preferred candidates will have experience in complex operational management, with a background in leading large teams to implement values-led systems change. An ability to balance financial and community-focused bottom lines is important, and stakeholder engagement is vital: the appointee will be a credible, passionate, and empathetic leader, able to influence and partner with stakeholders from all walks of life. A background in health and the DHB environment is not essential.
