About The Role: 

Reporting to the Manager – Infrastructure Operations, this role leads a team to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of Council’s property and investment portfolio, delivering an effective facilities maintenance programme, ensuring all properties, social housing portfolio, commercial and public buildings are compliant and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and develop team members, promoting a positive team culture and high engagement
  • Develop and deliver the strategy and operating plans for the property and investment portfolio, as well as the facilities maintenance programme
  • Oversee all aspects of property management including project management, valuation, procurement, contractor performance and adherence to appropriate legislative requirements and standards
  • Financial and risk management, as well as health & safety responsibilities.

Skills & Experience: 

Candidates of interest will have a degree in property management, valuation or a related qualification, with relevant experience in property services and a strong understanding of facility maintenance and compliance. You will have a natural customer focus with a high level of communication and relationship management skills, as well as proven experience successfully leading a team.

Ideally you will have:

  • An understanding of commercial property market principles and trends
  • A general understanding of asset management principles and how these relate to the day-to-day management of a property and investment portfolio
  • Experience in project management, along with good analytical, negotiation & decision-making skills
  • Strong presentation, report writing, planning and budget management skills.
