Sharon is well known in the Buller District having worked in senior management and governance roles, operating her own accountancy practice and is currently Executive Director of the Buller Rugby Union. Sharon also served as a Buller District Councillor from 2013-2022, with her last term as Deputy Mayor. More recently she has been the Independent Chairperson of Councils Risk & Audit Committee.

Collaborating with stakeholders, exploring commercial opportunities and project managing the new contracting depot are key areas Sharon will focus on.  The Board are looking forward to the solid foundation in financial oversight, business management, risk management and leadership that Sharon will bring.
