Shape the future as Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology, and Social Sciences at the University of Waikato.
As Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC), you will promote excellence and guide the division’s strategic direction. You will shape its intellectual and professional culture, ensure effective resource stewardship, and lead academic program development to enhance teaching and research quality. Additionally, you will promote staff and student success and foster collaboration with key stakeholders.
The division includes Te Kura Toi, the School of Arts; Te Kura Whatu Oho Mauri, the School of Psychological and Social Sciences; Te Piringa, the Faculty of Law; Te Ngira, the National Institute for Population Research; and Te Puna Haumaru, the New Zealand Institute for Security and Crime Science. The division fosters academic excellence in both research and teaching and produces graduates who are innovators poised to make a significant impact on society.
We seek a candidate with a distinguished record of achievement, proven leadership experience, and a comprehensive understanding of the tertiary sector. The ability to balance the interests of diverse academic disciplines is important. You should have excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, and the capacity to develop innovative strategies for growth and improvement, alongside experience in large-scale budget management.
