About the Role

We are seeking a distinguished Professor in STEM Education to join the dynamic team at the Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education at the Tauranga Campus, with potential responsibilities at both the Hamilton and Tauranga campuses. Innovative, research-informed programmes cater to both domestic and international students, and the university committed to enhancing education through teaching, research, and professional services. As a Professor in STEM Education, you will provide academic leadership of the highest order, maintaining excellence in teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, administration, and professional, community, and iwi service.
You’ll play a critical role in the development of education on the Tauranga Campus. The University of Waikato’s Tauranga campus is located in the heart of Tauranga city, just a short drive to the golden beaches of Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa. Your role will include:
- Participating in academic policy-making.
- Setting and maintaining high standards of scholarship.
- Influencing the University's policies to promote scholarship and research-led teaching.
- Undertaking key academic leadership roles.
- Providing advice, encouragement, and support to other academic staff.
This role may also be appointed at Associate Professor level.
