About The Role: 

The Financial Accountant provides day-to-day financial accounting services for the Group including provision of deliverables related to month-end and year-end activities, accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting on performance against budget, and tax compliance.

Skills & Experience: 

As the successful candidate, you will lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various companies within the Group.

You will have a keen eye for detail and robust analytical skills. Collaborative by nature, you will work closely with the Finance Team and easily build solid relationships across the wider group.

Tech savvy with a knowledge of systems development and improvement, you will play a key role with the process mapping and implementation of a new ERP system.

Agriculture and its people will be important to you, and you will actively immerse yourself in the business.

In addition, you will have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and a Chartered Accountant
  • Five years’ financial experience with a proven track record of handling company finances, banking, treasury, insurance, audit and risk management activities
  • Experience and/or understanding of providing financial services within commercial entities with vertically integrated end-to-end business enterprise models
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and New Zealand tax and statutory requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing.

Experience of the agri, food production, manufacturing sector, or related industries would be an advantage.
