With a highly engaged and tight-knit Support Office team based in Auckland and a national, long-standing store-owner network, the company has growth ambitions and requires an experienced General Manager to provide direction and drive execution to achieve profitable growth.
About The Role:
Reporting directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors, this is a broad role with responsibility for leading the day-to-day operations of the business with a focus on achieving optimum profitability for members, in line with the Board’s strategic objectives.
This will require establishing the company’s mission, values, strategic direction; and the policies procedures and operational planning that underpin these.
Fostering strong and enduring storeowner and supplier relationships will be critical to success.
Specifically, this will involve:

Providing support and direction to a team of 6 across operations, supplier liaison, marketing, business development, and administration

Building and promoting a positive business profile and brand presence

Fostering a continuous improvement culture underpinned by robust health and safety processes

Providing robust financial leadership support to the Operations Manager and optimising the provision of outsourced activities

Working closely with the Business Development Manager to establish an annual business development strategy focused on growth and store retention

Managing upwards to the Board and preparation of regular Board reporting packs

Managing communications to the membership ensuring they are fully informed on promotional plans and business opportunities
About The Person:
This role requires an experienced General Manager with a track record of driving growth in an industrial products and service environment.
Experience in owner-operator or co-operative environments is ideally sought together with strengths in fostering supplier relationships.
However, the key to success will be an innovative, entrepreneurial and growth mindset and a leadership style that provides delivery of the agreed direction and vision
