Tradezone General Manager Appointment
After an extensive search, we are very pleased to officially welcome David Morris as the new General Manager of TradeZone.
With a career spanning over two decades, David brings a real wealth of experience and a proven track record in various leadership roles, most recently as National Manager at Hammer Hardware. Before this, he was Business Development Manager at Mitre 10 NZ, Warehouse Stationery Regional Manager and Joint Venture Partner at The Good Guys Appliance Warehouse NZ.
David is a driven and future-focused senior leader with expertise in general management functions such as people leadership, operational excellence, business development, financial management, and marketing. David is the currently in the process of obtaining his Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Auckland and has completed a Co-operative Governance Course.
His core skills include strategy development, operational excellence, business planning, people leadership, sales and marketing, financial management, inventory management, risk management, customer experience, contract negotiation, and board reporting. David is skilled in identifying strategies that grow market share, improve brand presence, and increase sales outcomes for Shareholder Members. He has successfully led teams of up to 180 members, instilling cultures of high productivity and performance. He is a confident leader and relationship builder working with cooperative networks, suppliers, senior leaders, and key B2B customers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
His extensive experience in managing HR functions, multi-million-dollar budgets, and multi-disciplinary teams makes him a valuable addition to our team. He will be assisting the Board to shape the future of our Group and our businesses, including the implementation of Caliper 2.0, which was recently presented to Members attending the Queenstown Relationship meeting.
David starts with us on Monday 31st March, and over the coming weeks, as part of his induction, he will meet with the TradeZone support office team, Chair Marvyn Towers and Director Mark Gilbert, key suppliers and members to get to know the TradeZone business, market, and key product categories.
