NZS GROUP APPOINTS NEW INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
NZS Group has appointed experienced CEO and director Glen Sowry to its board as an Independent Director. NZS Group is NZ’s leading temporary works and scaffolding services company.
Mr Sowry is currently CEO of Queenstown Airport and has over 25 years of executive experience, including as CEO of listed retirement village operator Metlifecare, and Housing New Zealand.
NZS Board Chair John Beveridge said Mr Sowry’s appointment to the Board came after an extensive market search.
“Glen brings a wealth of experience in highly commercial environments where he has demonstrated deep operational expertise and executive leadership which we believe will be directly transferable to NZS Group.
“NZS Group has grown significantly in recent years and now employs over 400 staff in 16 subsidiary businesses across 11 locations throughout New Zealand. Cornerstone shareholdings are held by Evergreen Partners and Rangatira Investments alongside the founding partners. The business is set for further growth and expanding its offering in form work, engineered temporary works and value-add industrial services” said Mr Beveridge.
Mr Sowry said he was excited to be joining the NZS Group board saying, “The NZS Group has grown strongly in recent years both organically and through acquisition and has built a strong platform across major industrial and civil projects as well as large scale construction projects.
“NZS Group is well positioned to extend its activity into adjacent industrial services in the years ahead leveraging off its core competencies,” said Mr Sowry.
Mr Sowry is also a Board member of the New Zealand Olympic Committee and Advisory Board member to other private businesses.
