At Sheffield, we pride ourselves on delivering tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients. Recently, we had the privilege of partnering with the Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants to help them appoint two new Trustees, a process that required candidates with a blend of sector-specific experience and commercial acumen.
The Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants runs a product stewardship scheme called Cool-Safe that collects and destroys synthetic refrigerants across Aotearoa, New Zealand. Since 1993, the Trust has prevented over 1,496,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and 39,800 tonnes of ozone depleting substances from impacting our atmosphere. Sheffield recognised the incredible work that the Trust was undertaking, so were keen to support them with sourcing high quality candidates.
After a comprehensive search and advertising campaign, we received a strong candidate pool. While the broader campaign was important, it was our targeted search process (shoulder-tapping) that proved especially successful, yielding 10 high-calibre candidates. The Trust was so impressed with the quality of candidates, rather than appointing the originally planned two Trustees, they appointed four!
This outcome highlights the value of a strategic, focused recruitment approach in securing top-tier talent. We are thrilled to have played a part in helping the Trust build a strong, capable governance team, and we look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
