About the College:

John McGlashan College is a state-integrated Presbyterian boys' secondary school with 500 students. Established in 1918 with values of a sound and liberal education, the College serves students from Years 7 to 13, offering both day and boarding options, with a strong regional and national reputation for academic and extracurricular excellence.

The College’s values and mission are deeply rooted in their Presbyterian heritage and commitment to fostering well-rounded, well-educated, responsible and capable young men of integrity and conviction. The special character is at the heart of the school.  Boarding is integral to John McGlashan College, fostering a close-knit community and providing educational opportunities for boys from rural and regional areas.

John McGlashan College is unique in offering dual pathways for senior students - (NCEA) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the only boys’ school in New Zealand to offer this internationally recognised program. The Board of Proprietors’ purchase of Te Anau Downs has created Te Kūwaha Mātauraka, their second campus, providing the boys with amazing outdoor education experiences.
