Organisational Development Manager

Wellington

Lead enterprise-wide people development in a purpose-driven Crown Entity.

ACC exists to improve lives every day through prevention, care, and recovery. As stewards of our unique no-fault accident compensation scheme, we support over two million claims each year – from minor injuries to lifelong care. Our work is grounded in equity, guardianship, and community resilience, guided by our strategic vision Huakina Te Rā.

Currently we are seeking a people-centred and pragmatic Organisational Development Manager to lead a core portfolio of OD initiatives and frameworks. This is an exciting opportunity to influence people systems at scale – including leadership development, talent management, employee engagement, and organisational capability – in a values-led public sector environment.

This role sits within the People and Culture function and has direct responsibility for:

  • Designing and embedding the Performance Development Cycle across ACC.
  • Evolving leadership development programmes and tools aligned with future capability needs.
  • Leading the refresh of our employee experience strategy and engagement surveys.
  • Running inclusive and responsive employee-led networks and leader induction initiatives.
  • Supporting talent and succession planning processes and Executive talent boards.

You will work closely with senior leaders, the Executive team and kaimahi across Aotearoa to ensure our people systems reflect ACC’s commitment to equity, impact, and a thriving Aotearoa.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in organisational development, ideally in large, complex environments.
  • Depth in OD disciplines including talent management, leadership development, and cultural capability.
  • Confidence with data, digital platforms, and leveraging insight for impact.
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to navigate diverse views and political landscapes.
  • Cultural competence and a commitment to equity, including te ao Māori understanding and/or te reo Māori proficiency.
  • Resilience, focus, and a calm, pragmatic approach to delivering impact within constraints.

This is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of ACC’s workforce and uplift outcomes for all New Zealanders. If you're looking to apply your OD expertise to something bigger than business as usual – we’d love to hear from you.

Why ACC?

We’re driven by a powerful purpose: Tōnui Ake Nei | Thriving Aotearoa. We offer flexible work, competitive benefits, and the opportunity to help shape the future of a key Crown entity. If you want to make a difference where it really counts — this is your moment.
